“I wanted to write about the American family -
what it looks like now, and how families are made
in unexpected ways,” says playwright Rachel Bonds.
The family members she brings us in Curve of Departure
are young and old, Jewish and Christian, gay and straight,
black and white and brown. This "strange ragtag little
group of humans" navigate joy and sadness together
over the course of one night.
"A tight-knit family drama so comfortable in its skin...
a little gem of a play.” - Washington City Paper
